Dave Giegerich

Dave Giegerich latest updates

As many of you know, our friend Dave Giegerich, ace player, wonderful guy and past teacher at Reso-Summit, has been fighting through many setbacks to recover from a bone marrow transplant since September. He came home in November but has been in and out of the hospital with a series of complications. His wife Pam writes in her latest update today that Dave is in the ICU with a very serious infection and the doctors have called his situation "challenging."  Please send your prayers and positive thoughts via his CaringBridge site, where you can follow Pam's posts at

Dave Giegerich & East of Monroe

Fans of Dave Giegerich's wonderful playing should check out East of Monroe.  Someone mentioned this to me recently and I went searching on the net and found these great sites:

As usual, Dave's playing is tasteful and tasty.  Lots of understated and elegant work by everybody in the group.  Their EP is on Amazon (and iTunes, I think) and it's a must-have IMHO.  Emily's and Jackie's vocals are wonderful.  "Careless Thing" tears me up every time.

Enjoy.  Great work, Dave.

I just found out about this after visiting The Steel Guitar Forum. Dave Giegerich is battling cancer and will undergo a bone marrow transplant. If you are a person of prayer, this is the time.
