Sheharazade

Way back in the 1980s, Guitar Player ran a series of columns by Larry Coryell featuring his arrangement of this Rimsky Korsakov classical warhorse. About a year and a half ago, I decided to try an ear arrangement aided by my yellowed clips from the magazine. I played it in open D tuning (D,A, F#,D,A,D) on my Bear Creek Weissenborn. I never got it up to performance level so there are some tentative sections but I thought overall, it sounded surprisingly cool on lap guitar. I wish I'd written it down at the time. Now I'd have to figure it all out again!

I know part of it has to do with the mic, but these guitars just sound so warm and rich!

Simply beautiful! Bear Creek certainly makes a great sounding guitar!
