Wechter Scheerhorn

Wechter Scheerhorn 6524-R Questions

I walked into a local music store yesterday and found a new Wechter Scheerhorn 6524-R hanging on the wall. This is a rare find in my area. The owner told me he had a customer talk him into ordering a WS 6524-R, but had to order three guitars to get it. Anyway, he let me take it home for a few days to see what I think. Well, it sounds and plays pretty darn good. Which brings me to the reason for my post. Does anyone know what cone and spider is used in this reso?

I owned a WS Robl Ickes model at one time and I swear this reso sounds better. I'd like to hear your thought on the Wechter Scheerhorn models and especially the 6524-R compared to the mahogany model.

Near mint condition Rob Ickes Wechter Scheerhorn with complete mod job. I purchased this guitar recently and had it set up as a state of the art "plug-in" guitar by Kent Schoonover. There are a couple of minor surface scratches, but that's it. No dings. Comes with deluxe tweed TKL case which is mint condition. Features Schoonover Modular Spider, Fishman Nashville series resophonic guitar pickup, and Scheerhorn cone. Just to clarify, the Fishman Nashville series spider style pickup is the one used by/endorsed by Jerry Douglas (and others) and is designed to be used with the Jerry Douglas signature series Aura imaging pedal. The Aura pedal is not included with this guitar and must be purchased separarately.
